Training Leaders of Cadets at Eglin AFB

DESCRIPTION:
Training Leaders of Cadets (TLC) is a curriculum for adults who implement the Cadet Program at the squadron level. This 2-day course provides senior members with a strategic perspective of the Cadet Program, leadership skills for helping youth achieve their goals, and training in how to manage a successful program.
ELIGIBILITY:
Senior Members must have Level 1 completed prior to attending. (To foster a learning environment that encourages open discussion among adults who lead cadets, only seniors may attend TLC.)
FEE:
There is no fee for this training!

TRANSPORTATION:
Participants will be responsible for their own transportation. Members arriving via air (either commercial or via CAP Corporate Aircraft) should plan to fly into Eglin AFB (KVPS). If arriving via CAP aircraft, contact Capt McElvaney no later than 25 May 2010 to coordinate for your PPR number. If arriving via commercial air, please notify Capt McElvaney of your flight information ASAP so a CAP van can be sent to pick you up.
LODGING INFORMATION:
Billeting at Air Force Inns on Eglin AFB is available. If you need billeting, please complete the registration form for TLC and indicate you are requesting billeting. You will be e-mailed with details to confirm your registration and pay for the room. YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE FIRST AND USE THE PROVIDED RESERVATION INFORMATION - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE RESERVATIONS ON YOUR OWN! Military (current or retired) may book rooms space-A without affiliation to CAP. If you are doing this, please indicate you do NOT need billeting on the registration form.
EVENT LOCATION:
This course will be conducted at Eglin AFB. The building address is 502 Choctawhatcee Ave Bldg 38, Eglin AFB, Florida 32542. Bldg 38 is the Eglin Composite Squadron building.

MEALS:
There are numerous restaurants located within a 10 minute drive of Eglin AFB, including the Base Exchange food court and "The Breeze" dining facility.
UNIFORM:
The uniform of the course will be USAF-style short-sleeve light blue blouse/shirt service uniform or the CAP Corporate uniform. Please ensure compliance with CAPM 39-1 and all applicable changes to such. Flight suits and BDU's are not authorized for this course.
PREREQUISITE COURSEWORK:
Senior Members attending the TLC should also review the following modules located above:
a. Cadet Program Fundamentals (lesson F1, approximately 15 minutes)
b. Electronic Almanac (lesson F2, approximately 15 minutes)
